PAL says “Mabuhay!” to its second B777-300ER

A few days after saying hello to the new year, Philippine Airlines welcomed its second B777-300ER to its fleet.

Touching down from Terminal 2 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the aircraft went straight to Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ Bay 5, where PAL representatives and guests were gathered to give it a warm welcome.

The B777-300ER, under aircraft registry RP-C7776, joins PAL’s first B777 in flying international routes, while four more of the B777-300ERs are in plan for direct purchases from the aircraft manufacturing giant Boeing.

The two twin-engine planes, under lease arrangements with GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS), are covered under a 12-year Total Component Support TCS® deal which includes component maintenance services and access to Lufthansa Technik AG’s (LHT) pool of materials stock in Frankfurt. Meanwhile, LTP performs line maintenance services for PAL’s young and growing Boeing fleet under a signed memorandum of agreement (MOA).

The Philippine flag carrier’s first B777-300ER is deployed into commercial service to fly across its assigned Manila-Hong Kong or Manila-Tokyo routes. According to PAL, the latest B777 aircraft will be utilized in its routes to Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. PAL’s new Boeing aircraft are meant to boost the carrier’s long haul destination flights and enhance passenger comfort and service.

The state-of-the-art B777-300ER has been tagged as the world’s largest long-range twin-engine commercial aircraft that holds a 370-seating capacity for passengers. This jetliner’s technologically advanced feature, aside from a cutting-edge in-flight entertainment system and luxurious seats, includes lesser fuel consumption.
