Qantas A330's: Many Welcome
|
3rd Quarter Customer Edition 2007
Lufthansa Technik Philippines recently completed the C-check campaign for one of the leading operators in the Asia Pacific region, Qantas Airways.
LTP performed C-checks on the entire A330 fleet of Qantas in its Manila hangar in a campaign involving 19 maintenance events, covering a one-year period. The campaign also entailed cabin reconfiguration and painting for four of Qantas’ A330s, as these were assigned to Qantas’ wholly owned low-fare carrier, Jetstar. The four A330s rolled out of the LTP hangar in Jetstar.com livery. The livery was painted in mica, a color with special iridescent characteristics whereby variations in color may be seen when viewed from different angles.
The four A330s immediately served the low-fare operator’s new long-haul routes upon completion of the C-checks. Jetstar started operating long-haul international services from Australia to South East Asia, Japan and the Pacific utilizing those A330s.
