FIVE YEARS since its establishment, Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) has become a vital member of the Lufthansa Technik Group (LHT), with a product portfolio ranging from Total Technical Support (TTS®) to heavy maintenance checks of A330 and A340 aircraft.

Combining the synergies of leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider, Lufthansa Technik AG and Philippine aviation service provider MacroAsia, Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) was founded on September 1, 2000. Upon commencing its operations, LTP took over the maintenance and engineering department of Philippine Airlines (PAL), providing the Philippine flag carrier’s 30 Airbus and Boeing aircraft with Total Technical Support (TTS®). The fledgling company soon attracted other carriers, among them Cargolux, Korean Air and Singapore Airlines.

In January 2001, LTP embarked on a modernization phase as it prepared to commence its A330/A340 heavy maintenance operation. At this stage, the hangar facilities were turned into a modern MRO.
